This paper is intended to assess Tourism destination potential of the Arsi Mountains National Park. To achieve the objective, the researcher employed both qualitative and quantitative research method. Both primary and secondary data are used to assess the potentials. To collect the primary data interview and questioner were undertaken with selected park employees, community elders and other concerned individuals. In addition, deep and continuous personal observation was conducted to fill the gaps of interview and other sources gathered from various literatures. The analysis of the study revealed that Arsi University Mountains National park has tourism potentials and diversified values; it is inclusive of four different blocks. Namely Chelalo Gaallama, Honqqolo, Dheraa Deelfeeqa and Kaaka. They have not yet been utilized due to the presence of various hindering factors. Lack of tourist facilities, lack of conservation and absence of tourism interest in the local community. Finally, it is recommended that the collaboration of the administrations of the zone with different stakeholders such as local people, private sector is very imperative to exploit the tourism potential of the complex and mitigate the hindering factors.

Nech Sar National Park is one of the potential sites for tourism & conservation of wildlife including the endemic and flagship specie. The objective of the study was to investigate the tourism products and tourist satisfaction in the Park. For the better success of the study design that integrates both quantitative and qualitative research methods. Primary & secondary information sources have also been used; the primarily data collection was made using direct observation. Potential tourist attraction site was recorded with Canon digital camera & Garmin 64 GPS based field observations were used. Questionnaires were used to investigate tourist satisfaction in the park. Secondary data were collected from review of relevant different related publications and document reviews. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, MSEXCL programs, QGIS software. According to the finding of the study, majority of tourism products of the park are: Forty springs, God's bridge, Degabule viewpoint, Chamo view point, Nech Sar Plains, Sermaly River valley, Mountains chains, Ayemero Selassie Cave, Emporer Haile Selassie, Colonial Mengistu Hailemariam, Hot spring & tourism wild animals. Overall tourist satisfaction indicated, majority 84.5 % & 15.5 % visitors were satisfied & highly satisfied, respectively. Visitors source of information were 34.5%, 23.5%, 15%, 14%, 8% & 4.5% from friend, Internet, Tour Operators (Travel agents), written books, Ethiopian airlines & catalogs, respectively. Tourists Tourism product preference 33% Forest admirers, 19% wild animals18.5% Land scenery, 11.5% Trekkers, 10.5% Boat recreations & 7.5% Bird watchers. Infrastructures problems for visitors from 44.3% faced road problems, 21% waste disposal, 10.7% security, 9% Boat trip, & 9% professional local guides. Tourist Flow and income generated status in National Park increasing before the outbreak of covid-19 pandemic virus from 1987-2011 E.C. May-August, 2012 E.C tourist flow and revenue collection was zero, due to the occurrence of the pandemic covid-19 virus. 2014 E.

Tourism is travel for recreation, leisure, education and training, visiting friends and relatives, shopping, transit, pilgrimages or business purposes and staying in places outside their usual environment for not less than 24 hours and not more than one consecutive year. The tourism industry is made up attraction sector, accommodation sector and transport sector. Ethiopia embraces enormous natural tourism potentials with its unique biodiversity, spectacular landscapes, lakes, waterfalls, rivers, mountains, cliffs, natural bridges, valleys, protected areas and biosphere reserves. Gambella Region is located at south west of Ethiopia and endowed with remarkable natural tourism destinations. Nonetheless, limited study has conducted in exploring natural tourism potentials. Henceforth, the current study addresses the stated issue. To do so, key informants from three zones (n=15), five regional offices (n=23) and 13 woredas (n=65) has purposively selected based on the set criteria. Altogether, 103 key informants were interviewed besides to field observation. Collected raw data were chosen, refined, categorized, edited, evaluated, coded and entered to SPSS software version 20. Descriptive statistics were computed for relevant variables and information obtained from the key informants and field observation was described in meaningful content. Findings of this study revealed that Gambella Region has endowed with marvelous natural tourism potentials like waterfalls, lakes, rivers, mountains, bridges, wetlands, national park and biosphere reserve. Key informants underlined that the region has delightful natural potential to attract tourists, ecologists, environmentalists, explorers, drifters, naturalist and other segment of tourists towards its unique biodiversity from the different corner of the world.

The study mainly assessed the role of the park towards livelihoods of the local people. The purpose of this study was to identify ways in which Queen Elizabeth National Park has contributed to livelihoods and to prove that tourism is an important tool to improve livelihoods. The objectives of the study were to assess the economic opportunities available to communities due to presence of Queen Elizabeth National park, to assess the challenges facing local people around Queen Elizabeth National park and then to assess the challenges facing Queen Elizabeth National Park from the local people. In order to achieve these objectives, the study questionnaires were made to help collect data and in the whole study both qualitative and quantitative information collected was subsequently used in the analysis of data. Using the results of the study and data from the secondary sources, the study established that Queen Elizabeth National Park has some contribution it leaves in the livelihoods of local people some of which are positive while others are negative and this report calls them challenges. These contributions include source of raw materials, employments, rainfall formation and rebel hideouts among others. Tourism development was suitable tool for influencing people’s livelihoods in the study area. This was evidenced by the fact that the several people in the area were involved in several tourism related activities and among the activities include, supply of tourist related products and services like tour guiding services, sale of handcrafts, and supply of agricultural products to hotels, lodges, restaurants around the park and also the park contributes to employment opportunities, creation of market for local goods and services. The study also identified the economic opportunities and these include guiding, luggage carrying and animal rearing. To meet the goal of using Queen Elizabeth National Park to improve livelihoods, the study recommended government to develop a new tourism investment policy which ensures sound and direct investment in areas to meet national, social and economic goals and also encourage cooperation of all stake holders in the making of planning and making decisions aimed at using tourism development to improve livelihoods.

Purpose: This study analyzed the cultural and natural potentials that become tourism destinations in Gorontalo Regency, related to the attractiveness and problems of tourism, as well as the strategy to realize domestic and foreign tourism destinations. Methodology: This study used a qualitative approach with data collection methods through observation, in-depth interviews, documentation, and focused group discussions. Meanwhile, researchers analyzed data by organizing data, grouping data, and analyzing normatively. Findings: Several tourism destinations in Gorontalo Regency are the Soekarno Landing Cultural Heritage House, Pentadio Resort, Limboto Lake, Embung Dumati, Bubohu Religious Tourism, Walima Emas Mosque, Dulanga Beach, and Taluhu Barakati. The tourism problems that exist are specific destinations in dirty conditions; infrastructure is minimal, the educational conditions of residents around tourism destinations are inadequate so that it affects the quality of service. Information on tourism destination objects to the public is still lacking and ineffective; access to roads and human resources managing tourism objects is inadequate. To make Gorontalo Regency a tourism destination, in addition to overcoming existing problems, the development of regional tourism potential is a necessity. Implications: This research is beneficial, both for policymakers, especially the Gorontalo Regency Government, businesses related to tourism, and the local community. The results are expected to increase synergy between local governments, businesses, and local communities. For Local Governments, the results of this study are expected to be an input for formulating policies that can encourage the attractiveness of domestic and foreign tourists. Protected area based ecotourism is now the most interesting topic to the nature lover and policy maker throughout the world because of its linkage with economic benefits, protected area management and biodiversity conservation. Based on this premise our study explores the visitors' perception on the recreational potential of Kaptai National park and its potentiality in ecotourism development in Bangladesh. The field survey was carried out both in holidays and non-holidays of the week from the late winter season in 2009 to the spring season in 2010. A total of 118 visitors were interviewed with the help of a semi-structured questionnaire. Study findings revealed that about 62% male constitute the visitors group with the maximum number of visitors in the age of between 15-25 years (35.59%). The tourists were very much attracted by boat riding (93.22%) followed by scenic beauty of Rampahar-Sitapahar (85.59%). A major portion of about 57.14% tourists wished to visit the park within a year because they got a lot of pleasure from Natural and green environment (86.44%) followed by boating on Kaptai Lake (85.59%). Most of the visitors (36%) were happy about existing facilities but defined some problems such as tour guiding facility, food and drinking water supply, etc. About 71% and 66% respondents perceived that Kaptai National Park made them to be concerned and protective of nature and supports and sustains local ecosystem respectively and 43% respondents agreed that Kaptai National Park ensures the social equity and involve local people in ecotourism which are the most important elements of sustainable ecotourism. The present study results also predict that the park might be a good recreational area for enjoying with family members and group of friends through proper management and promoting the relationships among tourism, local people and biodiversity conservation.

Tourism development in protected area could potentially become one of the most significant sources of revenue and bring substantial benefits to the community living surrounding protected areas. Local involvement in tourism activities must be accompanied with capacity building in order to ensure effective participation of local people. Based on the socioeconomic principles of sustainable tourism, this will not only benefit rural folks but also enhance tourist satisfaction, thereby boosting the positive economic impact of tourism to support park conservation efforts. This paper intends to reveal how jobs are created through mountain guiding in benefiting the local communities. The paper aims to provide an insight into guiding quality provided by the local members. Personnel from Sabah Parks and mountain guides were interviewed and feedback through visitor questionnaire survey was obtained from climbers in Kinabalu Park in 2005. The analysis results reveal the fact where in despite of efforts by the park authority to create job opportunities to the local people, training provided to the mountain guides may be insufficient to cater for climbers' dynamic expectations, which may thwart income and employment security of the local people in the long run.

Few National Parks around the world are well managed otherwise; a reasonable number of such a significant socio-ecological sites of global importance are either mismanaged due to weak planning and practices or ignored due to lack of politico-scientific negligence. Present research was aimed at investigation of potentials and future prospects of tourism in mountainous regions in general and Central Karakoram National Park in particular. Using Delphi panel discussion technique, research revealed that strengths of any sector can be taped up to materialize its opportunities may be part of an aggressive strategy. Moreover, on the same footings, economical strategy can effectively be used as strength to minimize the susceptibility towards external threats. The results show that there are four dimensions of tourism being explored, namely attractions, accessibility, amenities, and ancillary services. Lawachara National Park (LNP) has good potentials to develop as a valuable tourism product with its own uniqueness. This paper aims to identify factors that affect the satisfaction and loyalty intention of tourists to visit Lawachara National Park in Moulvibazar as their forest based tourism destination. A questionnaire survey was conducted with 138 tourists who visited Lawachara National Park. A 5-point Likert scale was used to measure the tourists’ satisfaction. Factors, intended for measuring tourists’ satisfaction, were divided into five main constructs: accessibility, hospitality, expenditure attraction and entertainment facilities and environmental factor. The findings of this study indicate that LNP has a strong position only in attraction whereas it is lacking in facility and services. A great majority of tourists are mesmerized by the captivating beauty of this park. On the other hand, they express their displeasure with such issues as lack of basic infrastructural facilities such as public toilet, washroom and toilet facilities, expensive accommodation, lack of recreational facilities, cleanliness of the park and shopping facilities. This study has implications for policy planners and private stakeholders to take necessary measures for developing and promoting Lawachara National Park as a forest-based tourism attraction in our country. The number of tourist visits to Bunaken National Park has recently increased, and has subsequently become uncontrollable. This phenomenon has potential benefits and drawbacks according to environmental, economic, and socio-cultural aspects. This study aimed to explore the opinion and behavior of local communities regarding tourism growth in their area. To examine this phenomenon, the research study applied a mixed-method approach or combined quantitative and qualitative methodologies. Qualitative data was collected by observing the locals' behavior in Bunaken National Park, and the quantitative data was collected via questionnaires that looked at the perceptions towards tourism development. Doxey's Irritation Index was used as the primary measurement instrument when looking at the interactions among local communities and tourists. Introduction.

Undoubtedly, the tourism industry holds the likelihood of income opportunities and increased employment, particularly for citizens living in developing countries’ urban areas. In this regard, Meyer (2013) stated that tourism is an essential industry that promotes economic development by creating employment that increases people’s income and is hence considered an essential factor in developing economies.

As in a developing country like Thailand, the economy is largely dependent on the tourism industry. Approximately 25 million tourists visited Thailand in 2018 and generated 1.2 trillion revenues in tourism activity across Thailand. It is further stated by Bramwell and Lane (2011) that the tourism industry primarily supports the economy of Thailand.

All these factors are making Thailand’s tourism less attractive, particularly in Chiang Mai.
